Montgomery Public Schools used the competition equipment purchased with the support of Hyundai and Meta to help host an exciting VEX Robotics competition at the Alabama National Fair this weekend — and our students demonstrated outstanding teamwork, creativity, and engineering skill!
Nine MPS teams from Park Crossing High School, LAMP High School, and Brewbaker Technology Magnet High School competed against teams from across the state.
After the qualifying matches, the MPS team rankings were:
#2 – BrewTech 4828X
#4 – Park Crossing 82473P
#5 – LAMP 81218D
#11 – Park Crossing 82473C
#13 – LAMP 81218C
#14 – LAMP 81218S
#16 – LAMP 81218F
#18 – LAMP 81218A
#19 – BrewTech 4828A
All nine MPS teams advanced to the quarterfinals, with BrewTech's 4828X and 4828A moving on to the semifinals.
BrewTech's 4828X team battled all the way to the finals, narrowly missing the top spot in an exciting finish!

Colorful smiles and creative hearts filled the halls of Chisholm Elementary as students received a generous donation of more than 35,000 Crayola crayons from Montgomery-born artist Herb Williams! 🎨💛
This act of kindness didn’t stop there! Students at Dalraida, Flowers, Carver, MacMillan, Blount, Bear, and Nixon Elementary Schools also received vibrant bundles of crayons to spark creativity in their art classrooms.
A huge thank-you to Herb for coloring our students’ world with imagination and joy! 🌈
