Montgomery Public Schools (MPS) announces its intent to apply for the Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) grant, a critical initiative designed to support high-quality after-school and out-of-school-time programs that promote academic achievement and holistic student development.
The 21st CCLC grant would allow MPS to expand academic enrichment opportunities, provide safe and supportive learning environments during non-school hours, and offer engaging programming aligned with state standards in core subject areas.
Key Program Highlights
Academic Support: Tutoring and enrichment activities in reading, math, and other core academic areas to complement classroom instruction.
Enrichment and Recreation: A variety of engaging opportunities that may include STEM activities, arts, physical fitness, and leadership development.
Family Engagement: Opportunities for families to participate in literacy activities and educational support services that strengthen home-school connections.
Montgomery Public Schools is actively seeking partnerships with community organizations, nonprofit agencies, businesses, and other stakeholders interested in supporting after-school and out-of-school-time programming. Partners may provide in-kind services, expertise, or volunteer support to enhance program offerings.
