We are proud to announce that Mikayla Austin and Samantha Brandt took first and second place respectively in the Poetry Anthology division. Julie Uhm also won her division for Original Poetry. All three students have earned the honor of advancing to the state finals.
These performances reflect the hard work and creative spirit of our school. Mikayla, Samantha, and Julie will represent LAMP at the State Competition on February 26 at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival.
Please join us in celebrating their achievements and wishing them luck as they prepare for the next stage!

We appreciate everyone’s patience and flexibility. Due to extremely cold temperatures, please ensure your child is dressed in warm layers, including a coat and, if possible, a hat and gloves, before leaving home.
Thank you for your continued cooperation as we prioritize the safety and well-being of our school community.

Dr. Byrd and Interim Chief of Staff Dr. Lashley recently visited STARBASE Maxwell, where they witnessed how hands-on STEM learning is preparing students for futures in science, technology, and innovation. Experiences like these strengthen partnerships and expand opportunities for our scholars—another example of how we’re moving MPS forward.
