MPS will host a Special Education Job Fair this Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the MPS Leadership Center (720 Grove Street). MPS is seeking special education professionals for Pre-K–12. On-site interviews will be conducted. Please bring resumes, transcripts, and professional attire. New permanent full-time hires are eligible for a $3,000 recruitment bonus. Alabama is preparing to issue SUN Bucks again for the 2025-2026 school year. If your family has moved or your address has changed, please contact your child’s school to update their information in PowerSchool before March 2nd. The cards will be mailed to the address we have on file for your child. If your address hasn’t changed, no action is needed. For more information, click here. We are proud to celebrate Bear Exploration Center for being recognized by the Alabama State Department of Education as part of the Legislative School Performance Recognition Program for the 2024–2025 school year!
Bear Exploration Center earned distinction as a Top 25 Public School in Alabama, highlighting the school’s outstanding academic achievement and commitment to student success. This recognition reflects the hard work of students, educators, staff, and families who help create a culture of excellence every day.
Students will be out of school on Monday in observance of Presidents’ Day. Classes will resume on Tuesday. We hope our students, staff, and families enjoy a safe and restful long weekend!
