The Montgomery County Board of Education (MCBOE) is pleased to announce the finalists for the Montgomery Public Schools (MPS) superintendent position. The finalists for the MPS superintendent position have demonstrated strong leadership in their respective districts, bringing a range of expertise in educational leadership, student achievement, and district management.

Due to expected inclement weather on Tuesday, January 21, and Wednesday 22, 2025, all MPS schools and offices will observe a virtual schedule. The district will be virtual on both days and all after-school activities, which include athletic events, will be canceled.
MPS students and teachers will follow virtual learning schedules. MPS employees will receive specific virtual work instructions from their direct supervisors.

We're days away from the March 5th election. MPS receives an estimated 11 million dollars from the 3.5 County Tax. Vote March 5th!

This is your principal, Dr. Williams, with an update related to a delay in school for Tuesday, January 9, 2024.
Per the district office, schools will begin two hours later due to the possibility of inclement weather. Buses will begin routes at 8:30 a.m. Bear students will begin entering the building at 10:10 a.m.

One, today we practiced a fire drill. If your child communicates this activity to you, please know there was not a real threat.
Two, if you are following health content in the media, you may be aware that the identification of COVID-19 cases is on the rise. Please know that we are exercising universal precautions. In addition to encouraging hand washing among faculty and students, desks and chairs are sanitized daily in the grades K-1. Additionally, students in grades 2-5 complete this task prior to transitioning between morning and afternoon classes. Lastly, our custodial staff sanitizes the classroom when students are out of the room for more than 45 minutes.
Update three, MPS' CNP department has a new price listing for visitor lunches. This includes children and adults. A copy will be forwarded by your child’s teacher.
