Students across Montgomery Public Schools received a special surprise on Friday—just in time for the opening of the Alabama National Fair.
Montgomery County District Attorney Azzie Oliver, who serves as one of the district’s School Attendance Ambassador, delivered free fair tickets to more than 400 third-grade students at 26 elementary schools in celebration of their perfect attendance so far this school year.
The first stop of the day was Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School.
DA Oliver partnered with the Kiwanis Club of Montgomery and the Alabama National Fair to make this recognition possible, highlighting the importance of consistent school attendance and community support.
MPS leaders shared that incentives like this not only recognize hard work, but also help build habits that lead to long-term success.
The School Attendance Ambassador Program is part of the district’s ongoing effort to promote student engagement and reduce chronic absenteeism by celebrating positive attendance milestones.
Remember, we're all in this together! Our students are our future, and together we'll work to ensure all MPS students are: PRESENT. PREPARED. PRODUCTIVE.
