Montgomery Public Schools Launches First-Ever District Farmers Market
Montgomery, Ala.-Montgomery Public Schools (MPS) is proud to announce its first-ever Farmer's Market on June 20, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
This new district initiative reflects MPS's ongoing commitment to student health, community partnership, and access to fresh, locally sourced food. By connecting directly with area farmers and vendors, MPS is advancing its mission to bring high-quality, nutritious ingredients to students and families across Montgomery.
"This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to support our community and promote access to fresh, locally sourced food for our students. By connecting directly with local farmers and vendors, we're working to ensure our schools have high-quality ingredients that inspire speed-scratch cooking and fresh meals prepared from minimally processed components right in our kitchens, " said Johnna Beard, Director of Child Nutrition for MPS. "It's gratifying to see this vision come to life. It's not just about food, it's about feeding the future and building stronger community connections."
