Each year, ACAP testing marks an important time across all of our elementary schools—a time when students are asked to focus, show resilience, and demonstrate all they’ve learned. It’s also a time when school communities come together to support and encourage their students in meaningful ways. This spring was no different, and throughout the district, we saw incredible efforts to uplift and motivate students.

At Seth Johnson Elementary, those efforts were brought to life through a series of testing incentives designed to reward attendance, effort, and performance. With the help of community partners, students were offered exciting opportunities and meaningful moments of recognition that added joy and encouragement to the testing experience.

Students had the chance to win prizes such as bicycles and a grand prize iPad, which sparked excitement and motivated many to give their best. Classrooms that achieved perfect attendance were celebrated with ice cream and pizza parties, and high-achieving students earned skating passes for a well-deserved trip to 2211 The Ultimate Play Zone—a joyful reward that many students will remember fondly.

These experiences were made possible thanks to the generous support of community sponsors, whose contributions helped create a culture of encouragement and celebration. Their donations—whether through gifts, time, or resources—reminded students that their hard work matters and that they are surrounded by a community that believes in them.

We are especially grateful to 2211 The Ultimate Play Zone for donating skating rink access for our students, creating a fun and memorable celebration to mark the end of testing.
