Please be advised that the Senior Week schedule has been updated. Out of an abundance of caution, the previously planned trips to Six Flags and White Water have been removed from the schedule and replaced with alternative activities. We appreciate your understanding and support as we prioritize the safety and well-being of our students while ensuring the Class of 2027 has a memorable senior-year experience.
Please review the updated Senior Week schedule carefully and make note of all revised activities, dates, and expectations. We encourage every senior to participate fully in the planned events as we celebrate this important milestone together.
Additionally, please ensure that all senior dues are paid by the established deadlines. Senior dues help support the activities and experiences planned for our graduating class. If you have questions regarding your balance or payment arrangements, please contact the school for assistance.
Our goal is to achieve 100% participation in Senior Week activities and create lasting memories for every member of the Class of 2027. Seniors are encouraged to stay informed, communicate with their parents or guardians, and take advantage of the opportunities planned in their honor.
Thank you for your continued partnership and cooperation. We look forward to celebrating our seniors' accomplishments and making their final year at Park Crossing High School a successful and memorable one.
ATTENDANCE MATTERS AT PARK CROSSING HIGH SCHOOL!
Every Day Counts! Every Minute Matters!
Let's reflect on our attendance data from the 1st Nine Weeks, we want to emphasize the importance of students being present, punctual, and prepared to learn EVERY DAY!
SPECIAL SHOUTOUT TO OUR 9TH GRADERS!
Congratulations to the Class of 2030 for leading the way! 67% of our 9th graders have NO attendance issues, the highest percentage among all grade levels! Keep up the great work!
DID YOU KNOW?
Missing school means missing valuable instructional time!
Missing 1 day = approximately 0.6% of annual instruction lost.
Missing 5 days = approximately 2.8% of annual instruction lost.
Missing 10 days = approximately 5.6% of annual instruction lost.
Missing just 2 days per month can add up to 18 days, or 10% of the school year, which is considered chronic absenteeism!
PARENTS, LET'S TALK ABOUT TARDIES!
Being on time is just as important as being present!
Student Arrival Time: 7:00 AM – 7:39 AM
Student drivers must enter the gate by 7:30 and enter the school by 7:35
Beginning at 7:40 AM, students are considered TARDY!
Any student arriving at 7:40 AM or later MUST have a parent/guardian sign them in to school.
3 UNEXCUSED TARDIES = 1 UNEXCUSED ABSENCE
Tardies add up! Even when students attend school, arriving late means missing important classroom instruction, announcements, and opportunities to start the day successfully.
HOW CAN FAMILIES HELP?
Establish a consistent morning routine.
Plan for traffic and unexpected delays.
Monitor your student's attendance and tardies regularly.
Schedule appointments outside school hours when possible.
Communicate with the school when attendance concerns arise.
Our Goal: Every Thunderbird. Every Classroom. Every Day.
Regular attendance builds strong academic habits, improves student achievement, and prepares students for success beyond high school.
We need our families as partners in making attendance a priority!
LET'S SOAR TO SUCCESS, THUNDERBIRDS!

Dear MPS Families and Staff,
Following a thorough evaluation of campus staffing coverage, all Montgomery Public Schools and administrative offices will be CLOSED tomorrow, Friday, October 9.
This operational decision was made to prioritize students' safety and supervision throughout the district. We are facing a high volume of employee leave requests, anticipated regional effects from Hurricane Isaias, a declared State of Emergency in Montgomery County, and the rescheduling of Alabama State University's annual Homecoming. These factors prevent us from maintaining adequate operational coverage across the district.
All campus buildings and administrative facilities will remain closed, and there will be no in-person or remote instruction tomorrow. All MPS campuses will reopen for normal operations on Tuesday, October 13, following the scheduled federal holiday.
Guidance regarding Friday evening athletics will be communicated directly by school leadership.
We deeply appreciate your patience, flexibility, and understanding as we work to ensure a safe environment for our scholars and staff.
Sincerely,
Montgomery Public Schools Leadership

We are currently seeing a significant increase in employee leave requests across teachers, support staff, bus drivers, and other personnel. Our substitute staffing vendor is experiencing a high volume of requests and limited coverage. Adequate staffing is critical to maintaining a safe, secure, and productive learning environment for our scholars. District leadership is actively evaluating staffing coverage across all campuses.
We will continue assessing our operational needs and will provide families and staff with an official update no later than 12:00 p.m. tomorrow, October 8, regarding any adjustments to school schedules or operations.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and ongoing support of Montgomery Public Schools.
Our coaches do far more than teach the fundamentals of sports—they build character, instill discipline, foster teamwork, and inspire our student-athletes to strive for excellence both on the field and in the classroom.
Thank you to all of our MPS coaches for your tireless dedication, late hours, and endless belief in our students!

Today and every day, we celebrate the passion, dedication, and heart our teachers bring into the classroom. You inspire minds, ignite curiosity, and shape the future of our community one student at a time.

Every single day, our custodial team works tirelessly behind the scenes to keep our classrooms, hallways, and campuses clean, safe, and welcoming for our students and staff. They are the heartbeat of our school facilities!
We encourage our MPS Family to appreciate our custodians every day!
