Montgomery Public Schools proudly recognized five outstanding military-connected seniors during the Maxwell Air Force Base Graduation Recognition Ceremony in April. This special event honored graduating students whose parents serve or have served in the U.S. Armed Forces—active duty, Guard/Reserve, or retired. Representing Park Crossing High School, Brewbaker Technology Magnet High School, and JAG High School, these students were celebrated for their resilience, leadership, and academic success.

Congratulations to Demaree Finch(Park Crossing High School), Duncan C. Friedman (Brewtech High School), Lyric Reeves (JAG High School), Armani Streeter(Park Crossing High School), and Cayla Thomas(Park Crossing High School). Each student received a certificate of recognition and a symbolic purple cord to wear during their graduation ceremonies, signifying their connection to military service and the strength they have demonstrated throughout their educational journeys.

The event included a proud presentation of colors by the PCHS Jr. ROTC, who represented their school and district with distinction. Attendees were also inspired by keynote speaker Dr. Jack Hawkins, Chancellor of Troy University, whose message focused on perseverance, gratitude, and the powerful role of service in shaping future leaders.

We extend our sincere congratulations to these seniors and thank their families for their service and sacrifice. Their achievements reflect the strength of the military-connected community across MPS, and we are proud to honor their contributions as they prepare for the next chapter of their lives.
