ATTN Parents of Seniors:

Majority of our seniors are reported as unexcused absent as they are exercising an "unofficial senior skip day". Several Seniors that have exceeded the absences count are jeopardizing having enough instructional hours for graduation. BTW will record the absence properly, as it is unexcused. All scholars are required to be at school today. Parents, please encourage your Senior scholar to report to school.

Please do not hesitate to email me if you have questions.

Best,

BTW Families,

SCHOOL ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY!!! SCHOLARS MAY NOT BE CHECKED OUT DAILY!!!

It is so important that our BTW scholars attend school every day. Student attendance absolutely matters in schools, as it significantly impacting academic success, long-term life outcomes, and the overall school environment. Consistent attendance leads to better academic performance, higher graduation rates, improved college prospects, and greater feelings of connection to school and peers. Conversely, chronic absenteeism negatively affects students' ability to read, learn, and graduate, and it can disrupt the entire learning process for the whole school community. Chronic absenteeism also negatively impacts the school's report card grade.

Scholars identified as chronically absent will be receiving MTSS Notifications. The identified scholars will be placed on Tier III plans to address their attendance concerns. Plans will be uploaded to the scholars' MTSS folder accordingly. Attendance absolutely matters when a scholar cannot receive mandatory assignments and instruction, resulting in low grade performance, ultimately and negatively impacting his/her eligibility to remain at BTW or graduate. Should you have questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me via email.

Thank you for ensuring your scholar attends school daily. Come on parents, let's finish the year STRONG!

Good afternoon, BTW Families,

Maxwell AFB will host its 4th Annual Military-Connected High School Graduation Recognition Ceremony on Tuesday, April 28th at 5:30 for seniors. Students will receive a purple graduation cord and a certificate of appreciation from the 42d ABW Commander. Most of them have faced many moves, family separations, and other challenges throughout their educational years. We want to celebrate them as they are about to embark on yet another adventure following graduation. A military connected student is one whose parent/guardian serves as Active duty (all branches), Reserve/Guard (traditional/active), and retired military (12 years or less). As part of our ongoing partnership with Maxwell Air Force Base, we have the opportunity to recognize graduating seniors who are identified as military-connected students, along with their parents. Please complete this form if you are an eligible senior. The deadline to sign up is March 30, 2026.
