Southlawn Elementary is excited to launch our Signature Academy: STEM Literacy & Discovery Academy for the 2026-2027 school year! This innovative, schoolwide program ensures that all scholars (Pre-K–5th grade) will engage in meaningful learning experiences that strengthen literacy while expanding knowledge in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

⭐ What Is the STEM Literacy & Discovery Academy?

The STEM Literacy & Discovery Academy is a schoolwide learning model that integrates strong literacy instruction with STEM exploration to help scholars:

✔ Think critically and solve real-world problems
✔ Strengthen reading, writing, and academic vocabulary
✔ Explore science and engineering through hands-on investigations
✔ Use technology responsibly and creatively
✔ Collaborate and communicate effectively

Our goal is to develop confident readers, problem-solvers, and future innovators.

All Southlawn scholars will participate in:

• Hands-on STEM labs and discovery-based learning
• Project-based learning connected to real-world challenges
• Coding, robotics, and digital learning opportunities

• Guest speakers and community partnership experiences
