This week we’re shining the spotlight on Ms. Boyd, who is bringing math to life in her classroom!

Ms. Boyd has been leading her students through engaging math centers that make learning both hands-on and meaningful. Each center challenges students to think critically, collaborate with peers, and apply math concepts to real-world situations — from budgeting for a class party to measuring for a dream home design.

Her creative approach helps students see that math isn’t just numbers on a page — it’s a tool they’ll use every day. Ms. Boyd’s enthusiasm and innovative lessons are building confidence, curiosity, and a love for learning in every student.

👏 Thank you, Ms. Boyd, for making math exciting and relevant! 👏

These sessions will give parents and students an inside look at the specialized academic pathways, arts programs, and STEM opportunities that make MPS magnet schools some of the most dynamic learning environments in the region. Families will have the chance to meet program representatives, ask questions, and discover which school best fits their child’s interests and goals.
