Montgomery Public Schools is excited to welcome its newest scholars with the upcoming Kindergarten Kickoff, taking place April 27 through May 1 across all elementary schools.
This special week is designed to give families of incoming kindergarten students a smooth, supportive, and engaging start to their child’s educational journey. Each school will host its own registration event during this window, allowing families to complete enrollment while also connecting with school staff and exploring their child’s new learning environment.
Kindergarten registration is a critical first step in preparing students for success. By registering early, families help schools plan effectively: ensuring classrooms are ready, teachers are in place, and students receive the support they need from day one. Early registration also gives families the opportunity to become familiar with their child’s school, ask questions, and feel confident about the transition into kindergarten.
During the Kindergarten Kickoff events, families can expect more than just registration assistance. Schools will provide welcoming, family-friendly experiences that may include:
