Eligible families to receive Summer P-EBT benefits

The Alabama Department of Human Resources will distribute Summer Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) benefits for children who were enrolled in Montgomery Public Schools during the 2021-2022 school year.

Eligible families will receive $391 for each child enrolled. DHR is expected to begin distributing the benefits later this summer.

These benefits can be used to buy SNAP-eligible food items at stores that accept EBT cards. If you have received P-EBT benefits in the past, you can use your existing card. Those who are new will receive EBT cards in the mail. Please make sure your school has your current address on file. All benefit recipients should make sure to hold onto their cards in case more benefits are offered in the future.

Eligible families should monitor dhr.alabama.gov for additional updates, including information on when the benefits will arrive. DHR handles benefit distribution with the help of the Alabama State Department of Education.

If you have questions about P-EBT, call 1-800-410-5827 or visit dhr.alabama.gov/food-assistance/ from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
