Stay Connected

Welcome

  • On behalf of the faculty and staff of LAMP High School, I want to say welcome and we are glad you are here!

As a staff, we are so excited to welcome kids back into the building for the 2021-2022 school year.  This year our theme is “Family, Function, and Fun.” “Family” because we are a school family, and we need to take care of each other and treat each other like a family. “Function” because now more than ever we need to function at peak performance levels, and NONE of us accomplished this last year. We were all pulled, pushed, and prodded to assimilate and accommodate a myriad of changes often with no end or reason in sight. Did I mention how difficult last year was…. Finally, "FUN." We spend more time together during the school year than we do with our actual families. We need and deserve to have some fun!!!

I want to tell you a little about me for those new students and parents.  My experience in education encompasses my entire life. My parents were teachers, and I have spent my entire life in school. I have taught in both public and private schools throughout Alabama and across multiple grade levels. I have been a High School Assistant Principal, Elementary Assistant Principal, Elementary Principal and Principal here at LAMP for 6 years now.  I am excited daily by the opportunity to lead the outstanding students, faculty and staff here at LAMP High School. I am married (Mandy) and have two children Josiah (11) and Violet (7).  Finally, I value communication with my stakeholders. Please feel free to contact me anytime if I can do anything to assist or help make the LAMP experience better.

I am excited to welcome you all back both new faces and old alike for the 2021-2022 school year.

    Sincerely,

    Matthew N. Monson
