      Rules for athletic events

      Sporting events can and should be opportunities for fun and fellowship in a family-friendly environment. We have a responsibility to do everything we can to ensure that these events are safe for everyone attending. That is why we are setting forth some guidelines.

      The 1st Annual Highland Gardens ES yearbook is on sale until March. Please support our efforts to gain more resources for our scholars and end-of-year celebrations. They can be purchased online as well as by sending in cash.

      Yearbooks are on sale for $20. Don't forget this memorable time for your scholar.

      The T-shirts are still on sale. Please let us know if you are interested in purchasing a t-shirt for $12.

      Girls on the Run

      Girls on the Run provides POWER, PURPOSE, and POTENTIAL. Highland Gardens Elementary School Mondays and Thursdays 3:45 pm- 5:15 pm starts: February 6, 2023 Ends: April 29, 2023 (5K) Registration open NOW Fee: $10.00 Register www.gotrsouthcentralal.org/ Questions?       Snacks

      We will begin selling some snack items this week. All snacks must be preordered on Thursdays. Please send the exact change for snack items. Students will receive snack items on Fridays after lunch. We will be selling Munchies chips for $0.50, Slushies for $2.00, and Pickles for $1.00. If you would like for your child to purchase snack items, please send the money with your scholar on Thursday. For our younger scholars, please send a note with the money letting the scholar’s teacher know which items they will be purchasing.

      Comenzaremos a vender algunos bocadillos esta semana. Todos los bocadillos deben reservarse los jueves. Envíe el cambio exacto para los refrigerios. Los estudiantes recibirán refrigerios los viernes después del almuerzo. Estaremos vendiendo chips Munchies por $0.50, Slushies por $2.00 y Pickles por $1.00.       March is Women's History Month. We will have various celebrations of different women that have contributed to our society and education. Look for more information to come home soon.

      2-5 ACAP Parent Meeting

      We will have a 2-5 ACAP Parent Meeting in the coming weeks. We ask for all our 2-5 parents to make yourselves available as we will share more information about the states end of year assessment, what does the school's letter and number grade mean, and how you can support your scholars.

      NEW Kinder Coming to HGES

      Upcoming Kinder that you will enroll in the coming school year, 2023-2024, please look for more information by the end of the week. We will have a Kinder kick-off in a few weeks.

      March 10- 3rd Nine Week Grading Period Ends 

      March 13- Have a child who will be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1? Sign up for kindergarten during the Kindergarten Kickoff event at your zoned school on March 13! #KindergartenKickoff 

      March 14- Spring Pictures are around the corner. Please be sure to purchase your scholars' pictures. We will send home more information this week.  

      March 16- 3rd Nine Week Report Card Day 

      March 20-24- SPRING BREAK (Students and Teachers will NOT report to school)  

      April 2023

      April 7- Asynchronous Learning Day (Students will NOT report to school) 

      May 2023

      May 25- Report Card Day/Last Day for Students  

      May 26- Last Day for MPS Teachers
