Mission & Philosophy

It is the mission of the Media Center to support the school's instructional program to improve student learning. The Media Center strives to develop skills that encourage the student to independently inquire, think critically, as well as, gain, create, and share knowledge.

Library Hours

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Our library operates on a split fixed and flexible schedule. This means that there are scheduled times for teaching, as well as, flexible time for the students to come into the library as needed.

Volunteers

If you would like to become a library volunteer, please come by to see Mrs. Fairley.

Book Check Out

Students may visit the library anytime to check out a book. Books may be checked out for one week and renewed as needed.

Lost/Damaged Books

No late fines will be assessed. If a book is misplaced and can't be found, the students' borrowing privileges will be suspended until the overdue item is returned. 

Books that are lost or damaged are subject to a replacement fee. Special repayment plans are available on an individual basis.

2024 Martin L. King Summer Reading List (K - 2)

Purpose

Reading could be one of the many activities for your child this summer.  I am encouraging students to participate in the Montgomery City-County Public Summer Program.  This will help your child avoid the “summer slide” in learning.  The books on this list are highly recommended by the Association for Library Service to Children.  All in all, summer provides many opportunities for parents and young children to enjoy unforgettable books together.
