Coach Ken Johnson, Athletic Director
Montgomery, Alabama native Ken Johnson Jr. brings a wealth of experience and passion to his work with young people. During his high school years at Robert E. Lee High School from 1998 to 2001, Ken lettered in both football and basketball. He earned a football scholarship to the University of West Alabama before transferring to Alabama State, and ultimately completed his collegiate career at Concordia College Selma, where he was a three-time All-American and received the 2nd Team Player of the Year honors. Ken continued his athletic journey by playing professional indoor football for five years with teams such as the Stockton Lightning, Amarillo Venom, and Fairbanks Grizzlies.
Beyond his athletic accomplishments, Ken has dedicated over 15 years to youth development through his work with Montgomery Parks and Recreation, actively engaging with various youth programs. He served as the Director of Summer Camps at Hayneville Road Community Center and spent 13 years contributing to Montgomery Public Schools as a coach and mentor. Currently, Ken is the Athletic Director at Capitol Heights Middle School, where he leads the 8th-grade boys' football, basketball, and soccer teams. His passion extends beyond athletics, as he fosters academic and mental well-being in young people through mentorship programs. Ken's unwavering focus is on empowering the youth of Montgomery, Alabama, to reach their full potential.
