Behavior Analysis Program

Behavior analysis services are provided by a district-wide Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).  The behavior analyst provides comprehensive behavioral assessment and consultation services for students with significant behavioral challenges.  In  order to determine the factors that contribute to the behaviors of concern, behavior analyst will:

1. Observe the student;

2. Assess the environment in which the behaviors occur;

3. Conduct interviews with school staff members, parents, and/ or the student.

The BCBA may also provide:

*Classroom management coaching;

*Recommendations for behavioral strategies to be implemented;

*Assistance with the development of a functional behavior assessment and/or behavior intervention plan (FBA/BIP);

*Assistance with the development of a crisis intervention plan to address behaviors of concern

In some cases, skill development plans may be implemented to address skill deficits that contribute to problem behaviors.  Data are collected throughout the consultation process, and programmatic changes are made as necessary to ensure continued progress and success within the learning environment.

If you are interested in referring a student for behavior analysis services, please contact your school administrator or school counselor for additional information.
