2018-2019 Zone Changes

MPS Announces Meetings for Zone Changes
for the 2018-2019 Academic Year

The Montgomery Public Schools administration has scheduled three meetings to inform parents about zone changes due to the closing of four schools – Chisholm Elementary, Floyd Elementary, Dozier Elementary and Georgia Washington Middle. The meetings will be to help provide basic information to parents, and provide them with the resources needed to get information on changes and to answer questions.

Since the zone changes will impact most traditional elementary and middle schools beginning with the next school year, the meetings will be held in three locations around the county.

Thursday, May 24 at Carver High School

Thursday, May 31 at Park Crossing High School
Thursday, June 7 at Lee High School

The meetings will all begin at 6:30. The same information will be presented at each meeting. Parents or staff may attend the one that is most convenient for them.

Prior to the first meeting, online tools will be available so parents can check their address and see if their child will be impacted by the rezoning. There will also be a list of frequently asked questions (FAQs) and as much other information as possible posted on this website page and on social media. The page will be updated as information becomes available.

Parents may submit questions at each meeting or they may email parentinfo@mps.k12.al.us in advance of the meetings. Those who send emails should include which meeting they are planning to attend. Questions will also be answered by email when the information is available. Similar questions may be combined when read during the meetings in the interest of time.
